District resident Donnie Wise, 27, who has multiple felonies on his record, pleaded guilty on Thursday possessing two illegal firearms and distribution quantities of cocaine base and cocaine at his Southeast apartment.

Court documents state that in January last year, members of the Metropolitan Police Department served a search warrant at Wise's place in the 1900 block of 18th Street SE, where they found him sitting inside his bedroom.

Once he was handcuffed, prosecutors say that Wise advised officers that he was the only one in the apartment, where the kitchen was filled with drug-making materials that included digital scales, baking soda, and empty Ziploc bags.

Officers searched Wise’s bedroom and, next to his bed, recovered a Zastava Arms ZPAP92 7.62 x 39mm firearms with 30 rounds in the magazine and one in the chamber, as well as a Glock 17, 9 mm pistol in the same room with 26 rounds in the magazine and one round in the chamber.

Wise pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition by a person convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year, and unlawful possession with intent to distribute cocaine base.

When he is sentenced in July, Wise faces a maximum penalty of 15 years imprisonment on the felon in possession charge and up to 20 years for distributing cocaine base.
